Write for Rights is an annual human rights letter-writing campaign organized by Amnesty International. All students at Elgin Park are encouraged to support 10 people globally who face persecution and injustice. Last year, our letters helped to free Bernardo Caal Xol, a Guatemalan teacher and environmental activist--who was recently re-united with his family. Join us in fighting for freedom and justice this month!
All students at Elgin Park Secondary are encouraged to read (or watch) one case per day from Nov 17-25th. Please drop off your letter(s) to Mr. Day in the Guitar room from Nov 28-30.
Envelopes and paper are available to pick up from the Student Council bulletin board (main hallway—across from Guitar room)!
On Nov 28 & 29, we will host in-person letter writing sessions in the Guitar room at lunch and after school (2:45-3:45 pm)
Please sign up for the in-person writing event via RSVP below! :)
